For most businesses, the traditional route to financing looks something like this: gather your documents, submit a detailed financial plan, wait for an assessment, answer follow-up questions, and then wait some more. If you’re lucky, you get approved. If you’re not, you start again elsewhere.
Even when it works, the result is often a fixed loan with rigid monthly repayments that take no account of how your business actually performs after financing. A quiet January hits differently when you have a fixed repayment due regardless of what came through the till.
It’s a system designed around the lender’s risk, not the borrower’s reality. And for smaller or fast-growing businesses, that mismatch can be genuinely damaging.
What is Mollie Capital?
Mollie Capital is a business financing product built for businesses that process payments through Mollie. It offers financing from €500 to €500,000, with repayments that flex automatically based on your daily sales.
It’s available to eligible businesses in the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Poland.
The core idea is simple: because Mollie already has visibility of your sales performance, it can assess your eligibility based on real, continuous data rather than paperwork. If you’re eligible, you’ll see an offer directly in your Mollie dashboard. There’s no separate application portal, no financial plan to write, and no bank appointment to book.
How Mollie Capital works
The process is designed to be as simple as possible.
Check your offer. If you’re eligible, you’ll see a financing offer in your Mollie dashboard. Eligibility is assessed automatically based on your sales history with Mollie, so there’s nothing to submit or request.
Choose your terms. Review the available amounts, fees, and repayment rates, and choose the option that suits your plans.
Accept and receive your funds. Once you’ve accepted your terms, funds arrive in your account within 1–2 business days.
Repay through your sales. A fixed percentage of each sale is collected automatically. During quieter periods, when revenue is lower, your repayments will be lower too. Each offer includes an estimated repayment period, and your actual timeline may vary depending on how your business performs. There’s no manual admin and no fixed monthly bill.
Top up when you’re ready. Once you’ve repaid 55% or more of your financing, a top-up or renewal may become available, so your access to capital can grow alongside your business.
What makes Mollie Capital different
The most important difference is how repayments work. Traditional loans come with fixed monthly instalments that stay the same whether you’ve had your best month ever or your worst. Mollie Capital ties repayments directly to your daily sales volume, which means the rhythm of repayment matches the rhythm of your business.
A few other things worth knowing:
No lengthy application. There’s no lengthy credit check process to navigate and no paperwork to prepare. Your offer is based on your actual Mollie sales history.
Financing that grows with you. As your business scales and your sales performance improves, the financing available to you can increase alongside it.
Everything in one place. You manage Capital in the same Mollie dashboard you use for payments, reporting, and day-to-day operations. There's no separate tool or login.
How much does Mollie Capital cost?
You pay one flat fee, agreed upfront before you accept any terms. There are no hidden costs and no compounding interest. What you see when you review your offer is the total you pay.
The Mollie Capital page includes an indicative calculator that lets you explore different financing amounts and view the associated fees before you commit.
Who is eligible for Mollie Capital?
To be eligible for Mollie Capital, you need to meet the following criteria:
Your business is based in the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, or Poland.
You’re an active Mollie customer and have been processing payments with Mollie for at least three months.
You’ve processed a minimum transaction volume of €500 per month over the past three months.
You have a healthy transaction history, with an acceptable chargeback rate and no negative balance.
If you meet these criteria, you may see a financing offer appear directly in your Mollie dashboard. The longer you’ve been processing with Mollie, the more data there is to work with, and the more accurate your offer will be. All applications are subject to final credit approval.
If you’re interested in financing above €150,000, Mollie’s Capital team can structure a bespoke arrangement tailored to your business. You can get in touch directly via the Mollie Capital page.
Not yet a Mollie customer?
Mollie Capital is built on top of your Mollie payments account. Because eligibility is assessed using your real sales data, you need to be processing payments through Mollie before a financing offer can be generated for you.
If you’re not yet using Mollie, the first step is setting up a Mollie payments account. Once you’re up and running and have been processing payments for at least three months, you’ll automatically be considered for a Capital offer if you’re eligible.
Getting started with Mollie is straightforward: you can sign up, connect your preferred payment methods, and start processing payments by creating an account here.
